This was interesting...

Brandon Guy asks me this morning if I ever got my apple pie that he made for me. Rest of conversation went as follows:

Me: no, when was I supposed to?

Brandon: I gave it to Jeff to give to you... I know it's your favorite and you asked for one a while back...

Me: interesting... he never mentioned it... when was this?

Brandon: just before Christmas... maybe you were out of town so he ate it...

Me:
ok, well I will look into it...

Brandon: well, ask him if it was good b/c it was a new homemade reciepe I found...

Me: well... I will ask him...

Next conversation

Me: Jeff... did Brandon guy ever give you an apple pie to give to me???

Jeff: well... yeah, but you never mentioned an apple pie..

Me: what???

Jeff: well you never told me you were expecting one.... so I thought I should take care of it...

me: it was a gift to me.. i didn't know he was making it for me...

Jeff: well, i just figured you didnt appreciate it... He said you asked for one...

me: I didnt know I even had it!!!!!! how was I supposed to be appreciative...

Jeff: He said you asked for it... you never told me that...

me: I dont tell you everything I like... why do i need to tell you if someone is getting me something... he told you it was for me!!!!

Jeff:
Well... you were out of town for Christmas when we ate it... we served it at our Christmas Eve get together at our house... I didnt want it to go bad...

me: Jeff, seriously... we came home on Christmas day... that is one day after you ate it...

Jeff: well, you didnt mention to me you were getting one so I didnt know you appreciated it... and i didn't want it to go bad... It was a bit undercooked anyways... really good, but a bit undercooked...

me: unbelieveable...

Jeff: (smiling at me)

Just thought I would share this with you... I am still uncertain at Mr. Ramsey's logic through this whole situation and also wondering why I was never even told I was given an apple pie...

Perhaps someone can shed some light on the subject for me...

Well... have a good weekend... and I encourage anyone given an apple pie to give to someone else... please.. please... make sure they at least are given a piece...

Happy Times...

I must admit... I laid eyes on said apple pie. I did not partake, although it was there in plain sight at the "after party" on Christmas Eve. Jeff made it sound like it was Brandon's contribution to the party.

I guess Brandon learned a lesson here... don't give pies to Jeff because his heart is to share. Or at least, if you do, make sure he knows who it's for.

Jason, I'm not sure yet what your lesson is. Maybe Jeff felt like, since he's letting you and your wife live with him and his family, the least you could do is share your stinkin apple pie. Geez. Is that too much to ask?

Dearest Kim,

perhaps you didn't read how the story went... so allow me to enlighten you... Brandon did infact ask Jeff to give the pie to me... Jeff's heart here was not to share but to steal...

as for me... if I am to repay Jeff for me staying at his house that is for me to do in my decision making... unless he decides to let me know he is adding a specific repayment...

I don't feel it is just to envoke a "apple pie" tax unannounced...

Alright, just to clarify the facts of this situation...

The pie was baked on Thursday afternoon, December 21st.
Brandon brought the pie to the church building the morning of Friday, December 22nd.
I served the pie on Sunday evening, December 24th.

When Brandon brought the pie, my impression was that he and Jason had agreed that Brandon would make him an apple pie and bring it to Jason at the church building that Friday morning. Brandon seemed a bit surprised that Jason was out of town. I thought it was a bit rude of Jason to have Brandon make him an apple pie, agree to be there to get it, and then not show up. Obviously, I had my facts mixed up, but an honest mistake, I think.

I also thought a fresh apple pie should be eaten immediately, and had a hard time waiting until Sunday night to eat it. 4 days (Monday, when Jason got home) is entirely to long, in my opinion, for an apple pie to have to wait to be eaten.

Therefore, I ate the pie... and it was really, really good. In fact, Brandon, if you want to make Jason another apple pie, I'd be happy to give it to him.

My mother wants me to let everyone know I am not mad at Jeff and just kidding around... she said it sounds like I am really mad... and I am not... I am only joking around.. sorry mom and anyone else who may have thought I was being serious...

I didn't even know my mom read this thing...

Dearest Jason:

I apologize for missing the line where Brandon said, "I gave it to Jeff to give to you." My bad. Nonetheless, I do wish now that I had eaten a piece of this apple pie. Maybe next time. Thank you, Jason, for the prompt rebuttal.

Sincerely,
An avid reader

I think you need to check yo'self and back up off my baby's mama.

As for your pie, I think I had some. It is hard to say for sure because I had a lot of a lot. I was under the impression that everything was fair game. I hope you do not mind that I made mixed drinks with your fish oil.

I think if your mom is going to read this, she needs to throw a comment in the ring. I'm sure she has plenty of insight she could share on you and your past. Maybe you could get her set up with a flickr account as well and she can scan in some embarrassing pics of you.

mmm... apple pie

alright, i have a confession to make...

we didn't finish the pie on Christmas eve, and because I sensed a lack of appreciation towards the pie on Jason's part, I took it to my in-laws and finished it there...

There are a few reasons why I miss you all right now.....

1. No one understands why I am laughing out loud in the office right now.

2. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten some of that pie. Jeff sent me an email asking if I wanting him to mail me some, but I wasn't sure it would make it and politely declined. (See Jeff's comment on the life cycle of Apple Pie.)

Longing for pie,
Josh

p.s. - Brandon, I could use a pie of my own.

wow

I'm going to go ahead and exploit this moment and set up pie shop. Apparently these pies are all the rage.

Send in your requests and for a nominal fee you can get in early on an investing opportunity of a lifetime: fund my new deck! You get pie, and if you want I'll throw in some punch to boot. Oh and I'll invite you over for a cookout when the deck is done!

With all do respect... is there a way for me to get a finders fee for this venture of yours, Brandon... we can direct traffic from my blog for a small percentage...

I just want some justice in this apple pie saga... just a little... that is all...

So I am sitting at Jeff's house with he and jason...

now, I am no mediator of persons, however, if someone does not propose a reasonable solution to this dilemma, jason will be calling all of us to help him move out...this, obviously...is not what we want...

help...

..please...

Brandon said...

can i pay you in pies?

Jeff is wanting commissions, you are wanting commissions, all these middle men are really cutting into my profits

Anonymous said...

if jason decides to move out, that could create a problem for me b/c they would have to move back into their condo and then where would I live...

i think the solution is simple, we need to have a pie party so that everyone can have some pie... so brandon start baking!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so here is the deal Jason, You get me my Sunsets and Sushi book back and i'll make you multiple pies. You can't beat that deal even with the blue light special at Kmart.

p.s. you still get one to replace the one Jeff bogarted

p.p.s. Anyone involved in process of me recovering my lost book will also net a pie(or cake if that's your bag)

this really is not a new story...

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die."

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate;
